HISTORY

75 years ago Wilhelm Bahmüller founded the business that later became the successful international corporation BAHMÜLLER, its roots going back to a small mechanical shop in Plüderhausen, Germany. Today BAHMÜLLER is a global technology leader in three highly specialized business segments. Specifically, in precision grinding for the automotive industry, fully automatic production systems for the corrugated industry and tool holding systems for machining centers.

2022

July 2021: start of the next expansion for the production and assembly area for the corrugated board converting business unit. The completion of the new building is planned for March 2022.

2020

BAHMUELLER celebrates the 75th anniversary.

2018

March 22nd, 2018: start of the expansion for the production and assembly area for the corrugated board converting business unit. The completion of the new building is planned for August / September 2018.

2015

BAHMUELLER celebrates the 70th anniversary.

2015

On January 27th, 2015 the son of the corporate founder, Hans-Jürgen Bahmüller MEng., dies at the age of 61. Effective, June 1, 2015 the corporate shareholders and its advisory board appoint Michael Holtmann, MEng., MBE, as CEO and Managing Director. Under Michael Holtmann’s leadership BAHMÜLLER is entrusting a manager with extensive international experience in the specialty equipment and system solutions business segments. Mr. Holtmann enjoys a solid reputation and is committed to continuous growth ensuring continuity and innovation.

2013

Construction and opening of the new BAHMÜLLER Logistic Center. Founding of subsidiaries in Great Britain, BTUK, and Switzerland BTCh.

2012

On May 2nd, the newly completed 1,100 m2 final assembly plant for grinding machines is commissioned.

2011

BAHMÜLLER is founding the BTRo Bahmüller Technology Romania GmbH. BTRo is focused on After Sales and is providing service support, spare- and wear parts for BAHMÜLLER machinery as well as machines from other OEMs.

2010

BAHMÜLLER founds the Wilhelm Bahmueller Precision Machine (Beijing) Co., Ltd., Beijing, China. The subsidiary is serving the ever growing demands of the Chinese market.

2007

Restructuring of the corporation. Hans-Jürgen Bahmüller MEng., takes complete ownership of all shares of the WILHELM BAHMÜLLER GmbH and is appointed as sole CEO.

2005

BAHMÜLLER celebrates its sixtieth anniversary.

2002

BAHMÜLLER opens a permanent representation in Shanghai, China.

2000

To better serve the North American market BTI BAHMUELLER TECHNOLOGIES Inc. is founded in Pineville, NC (USA).

1999

On September 14th, 1999 Wilhelm Bahmüller dies at the age of 85.

1998

BAHMÜLLER receives the vendor award for “Outstanding Quality and special Services” from the BOSCH-Group.

1994

With the retirement of the company founder, Wilhelm Bahmüller, follows a restructuring of the ownership and the business. The business is reorganized in three different business units: Precision Tool Holders / Corrugated Board Converting Systems / Precision Grinding. Process management is structured accordingly.

1991

Grand opening of the new assembly plant for corrugated board converting systems along with offices for R&D engineering and sales.

1987

Grand opening of the new assembly plant for precision grinding equipment, R&D engineering, demonstration center, measurement- and training facility.

1982

A partnership with GÖPFERT in Wiesentheid is formed for the production of Inline converting systems for the fully automatic production of corrugated packaging. The newly formed company is, BGM BAHMÜLLER & GÖPFERT Wellpappe-Verarbeitungssysteme GmbH”, is jointly owned and has its sales offices in Plüderhausen.

1962

Production start of Precision Tooling.

1959

The company grows to 160 employees.

1950

The first company building is dedicated with 5 employees and 2 apprentices.

1949

With the construction of the first band saw the foundation is laid for the corrugated board converting division

1945

In July the master mechanic, Wilhelm Bahmüller, opens his machine tool shop in Plüderhausen.
